Just put engine in and it will turn over but no spark no fuel getting to spark plugs what would cause that?

we just put in an engine in my chevy astro van and it will turn over but there is no spark. it is like it isn't getting fuel to where the spark plugs go. what would cause that and what can we check to fix it?
