What would you rather have...enlightenment or happiness? and why?

i rather know the truth than to be happy about lies...anyone feel as though happiness is only momentous? I think happiness has to come and go like where theres light there will also eventually be dark, whereas once you know something thats it theres no going back from that. Like when older people say "get an education , its something no one can take away from you".
