What causes ringing in the ears? and How can I make it stop?

I've actually had this happen to me, and ended up going to the clinic (though I don'tt know if its the same for you). Basically they did high pressure wash in my ear, to blow out all the dirt and gunk that may have been missed by the Q-Tips..which oddly enough included parts of the q-tip itself. So you can look into that to see if'd help.
