Can anyone answer a quick smokers question?

Ok so i built a little homeade vaporizer out of: a light bulb, water bottle cap and tape. So i cleaned out the white coating on the inside the bulb and everything but when i put my "tabbacco" in it takes a very long time to heat and release the vapors even to the point it melts my lighters. So i put i little bit of water in just enough to soak into the "tabbaco" and it hits must cleaner and stronger and ALOT quicker. We (my smoke circle) all named it "The Boiler" because when you hit it it feels like your taking a drink of hot water and its so ******* amazing. Anyone else ever tried this or no if what im doing is dumb as **** or something because i found no other results on this. It always makes you really high and it seems like a great idea
