I'm a serious writer but can you help me? Critisim needed on the intro to this chapter?

I hate to say this, but it's very cheesy and very, very cliche. The names sound very Mary Sue-ish, which will be frowned upon by more serious readers. To tell the truth, the whole story was very cliche and the writing was not that good. Even worse, the main character sounds like a real Mary Sue, which is something that you should avoid at all costs. There are also many grammar mistakes and some spelling errors. This story is mediocre at best, and that's a stretch. I'm sorry if I seem too harsh, but I'm trying to give it to you straight. The truth is that this story is not going to get published. It's okay, but compared to the countless other authors with much more experience and much better material, it's a little shabby. I hope that you don't stop writing and please don't take my criticism too harshly.

Do I have to pay taxes on my small claims judgement payment?

The Judgment was for my security deposit from my old place of residence. The judgment breaks down like this: Security Deposit $1000.00, $1000.00 Punitive Damages, $300.00 Damage to Property, and $50.00 my Court Costs. I am being told I have to pay taxes on the entire Judgment, paying taxes on Punitive damages makes a little sense to me, but why should I have to pay taxes on money received for property damage because I already paid taxes on the damaged property when I first purchased it and I don't understand why I should be taxed on my security deposit refund because if I received when I should have, upon moving out, I wouldn't have had to pay taxes on it then. Not sure about being taxed on court costs reimbursed to me but that's not such a big deal to me as it only accounts for a little over 2% of the judgment. Can someone please help me figure this out?

Perhaps you guys just ran out of stuff to talk about. Only having met and hung out once, there's not a whole lot to discuss after a while. And school gets in the way sometimes. People just get busy. If midterms are over now, contact him and see if he still wants to hang out. It's the best thing i can think of. If he says no, then you'll know he's not into you. If he says yes, then there may be a chance. Or you always have to consider that going to different schools, he could've met someone else. It's something to think about. African Dwarf Frog Choking?

I bought an African dwarf frog a couple of days ago from PJ's pet store. From what I've read on the internet, I'm pretty sure she's a girl. I'm worried though because right now she's sitting at the bottom of the tank and it looks like her throat is swollen. She keeps on flicking it with her front legs and then it looks like she'll have swallowed and the swelling goes away. Then seconds later, it comes back and she repeats the process. I also have guppies in the tanks and it's possible that one had fry recently. Could she be eating the fry and it's fighting back. Or is that the way they eat period? This is my first frog so I don't have very much experience.

How do I help a 3.5 year old boy to listen?

My son is just the sweetest and wonderful, polite boy. He is awesome in so many ways. The problem is he chooses not to listen and it affects how his whole day goes. He goes to preschool and they will report he did wonderful work but he has difficulty sitting and listening during circle time, when lining up, etc. He is TOTALLY capable of sitting and listening, he does it all day long when engaged in playing with his toys etc. He can attend to tasks for LONG periods of time so it isn't that. It is the choices he is making. Many times he is talking and won't even pay attention to what is asked of him. Then other times, when he is with me, I acknowledge he actually heard me and then doesn't follow through Ex: "If you hear the dog barking can you please help me out and let her in?" (He loves to let her in and out.) Then I hear the dog barkng, more, more and it is raining, I wait to see if he will finally follow through and no. Dog is still outside barking. He gets sent to his room to think about why he is got sent there. He can later tell me what went wrong but he still will do it. He isn't learning that when he doesn't listen, he misses out on things etc. He loves to watch movies, I won't allow any movies and TV and explain, that is saved for people who can pay attention to them and listen to what is going on. When he shows me he can listen I will be glad to let him listen to TV. Hmmmm, doesn't work...TV has been off for 4 days now. Happily send him to have some alone to time "Think about what sent him there." Hmmmmm.....still happening. I know he is 3, But I also know what simple things are expected of him and he is definately making these choices to not listen, not follow through etc. i want to help him but feel I am not being affective. Its too early to form a judgement based on trust, i do think this is a major movement on the part of the North Koreans and diplomatically, not one to be missed. I think the US should grasp this opportunity and be transparent in their response in order that the world can make a proper essment of the intentions of the North Korean government. I could just be that there is significant change afoot in the PRNK and any form of immediate rejection at this time could set the diplomacy back years, Its also just possible that we have the right man in the white house at the right time.

If You Own A Maltese cross Poodle Please Answer?

I have a nearly 6 yr old Maltipoo. He looks more like a poodle than a maltese. He does not shed at all. He does bark, but not constantly. He barks if he sees the neighbor kids riding down the road on their bikes, but he doesn't just bark, bark, bark all the time. I also have a Yorkie and two Yorkiepoos. These dogs don't shed at all either and are a little less prone to the barking. But, let's face it, all dogs will bark at some point. Good luck with your choice! And congrats on your baby!

I agree with the person who says motherhood is a miracle. I think motherhood can REALLY turn a person around for the better if they allow it, and learn the wisdom that comes from it. Dump the guppys and the Sulphur Crested Lithobate, especially the SCL, its a Malawi cichlid and needs hard water. The others sound ok., although when mating the dwarf cichlid may get aggressive. Also, keep in mind these fish like soft, slightly acidic water, so if you do get these, keep your ph around 7, or a little lower. So if you can maintain your water like it is, you should be fine. Personally, I would go with something other than the gouramis, and keep a South American theme going, but this is just my opinion. Not a have to.

What can I do to help raise my IQ score, artificially if need be?

Ok, so the school district that I go to offers a gifted program. Most of the people in this program were tested in kindergarden.If they scored above 130 they then went to a gifted center once a week, and in middle school had a "stretch" cl. I was tested, and has a 40 point gap between my verbal and nonverbal IQ's, suggesting a learning a disability. Now I am an academically successful sopre, with some of the highest grades and test scores in the school. When I got a 210 on my PSAT our "Gifted Counselor" nominated me for the program, which basically is access to a bunch of academic programs outside of school. My theory is that i have at least partially overcome my LD. I would like access to these programs, but need to score above a 130 on the test. Can anyone tell me things to do before the test, and what things will be on the test so that i can prepare?

Should we be worried about the foundation of this house?

We are looking at buying a new home. We had it inspected and the inspector seemed knowledgeale. The basement was dry for the most part but had some moist spots due to improper grading of landscaping. No bulging walls inside or our, all floors were level, windows opned and closed but some did not lock (inspector said because they were left unlocked over time and misaligned). We found some hairline cracks in each room some short and some running the length of the wall or ceiling (mostly old plaster and some sheetrock) Our major concern was that there was seperation of the quater round from the trim. On the second floor in front and rear walls the quater round is about 1" from the trim. The quater round is attached to the original hardwood and not the wall. Also, there was some cracking on the parging in the basement. The inspector said the cracking was only on the thin layer over the stone because the material doesnt flex. He said the seperation of the floor was caused by settlement and because it is original it may have been many years ago. Also, the main level shows no seperation because it is carpeted(10-15 years old). Anyone well versed in foundations have any idea if this sounds like a major issue? Also, one crack we found in a bedroom was about 1/2" wide on the plaster and looks like they had nailed something in where the crack starts.

Ok so i built a little homeade vaporizer out of: a light bulb, water bottle cap and tape. So i cleaned out the white coating on the inside the bulb and everything but when i put my "tabbacco" in it takes a very long time to heat and release the vapors even to the point it melts my lighters. So i put i little bit of water in just enough to soak into the "tabbaco" and it hits must cleaner and stronger and ALOT quicker. It is possible for the water supply lines to freeze, but if there is adequate insulation in your walls this should not happen. As the small supply lines are exposed, they are prone to freezing if it gets cold enough. The heat tape and making sure your skirting is more weathertight is a good idea. So far Ive added: A short throw T-5 shifter, deleted my whole A/C system (as it was unrepairable anyways) Kenny Brown hi-flo catalytic converter H-pipe, Flowmaster 2-chamber 2 1/2" exhaust, tweaked the timing, added 3.73 gearing, replaced plugs, wires, distributor cap, etc. Please list any ideas to help me along, I want my Mustang to be FAST, but keeping in mind It still has to p emmisions. It also has speed density versus the MAP sensor, I'm sure I'll have to upgrade this, I was also thinking about a larger than stock throttle body (65 mm) and a small dose of Nitrous Oxide (75-125 HP). Also the car has the stock (10 hole rims). Can I fit slicks onto these rims? Do i have to drill in to the rim with bolts to mount slicks on those rims? Puppy training problems! Please Help!?

I have recently gotten 2 puppies who are approx. 8 weeks old. They are Lab and Pit mix. I want to train them to go do their business outside and not in my house. My dog Daisy was doing good with it until last week when she just started randomly doing her business in the house when she first came in no matter how long I had her outside that day! I have tried puppy pads, etc and when (if) she goes outside, I do give her a treat- what am I doing wrong? I even tried soaking the pad with their "business" and putting it outside but no luck. My husbands dog roxy is smaller and still wants to sleep alot. Her main problem is that she will sit and whine LOUDLY at the front door for no reason..She and daisy both know the command NO but yet she is still doing the whole whine thing- What can I do to make her stop? I can do a back handspring ( on the tramp, and on floor with a little spot ) front hand spring, front and back walkover, cartwheel Round off, front and back roll, handstands ( walking forward, backward, in circles and sideways and a quick One hand cartwheel ) I just turned 12 and they don't care what age as long as you are kinda good and have a really good attitude. I just got a new Danby portable dishwasher, but the faucet adapter included to hook the hose onto the faucet won't attach. It's designed for threaded faucets, and mine isn't threaded. I think it's an older faucet. I rent, so unless its absolutely necessary, I don't really think I can/want to replace the faucet. Could I find another adapter that would work with my sink? Help with preserving a WW2 Bomber Jacket?

My Dad died a while back, and he left me his bomber jacket. Not a copy, the real thing. He flew a B-24 out of North Africa and Italy in 43 and 44 so it has his name tag (CPT John P.
